For Community Partners

Developing community-centered solutions to complex issues is core to the mission of UF Gulf Scholars. We believe in the power of collaboration to drive positive change in Gulf communities.

Partner with us

By partnering with UF Gulf Scholars, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping future leaders while benefiting from the insights, expertise, and hands-on support of students engaged in real-world projects. We offer financial and administrative backing for a variety of collaborative opportunities.

We are particularly seeking internships and experiential learning opportunities aligned with our five program pathways, or Gulf Streams:

  • Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability
  • Cultural Heritage, History, and Storytelling
  • Resilient Built Environments and Economies
  • Policy and Advocacy
  • Public Health

Ways to collaborate

  • Host an experiential learning opportunity: Consider hosting students for research or service projects, internships, or field excursions, and mentoring them on Gulf Impact Projects. Need funding? We are currently accepting proposals for student experiential learning opportunities. Learn more and apply.
  • Serve as a guest speaker: Consider sharing your knowledge during a Gulf-focused course, public program, or cohort meeting.
  • Have other ideas? We’re always open to exploring new ways to collaborate and drive impact together.

If interested in getting involved, please email Rebecca Burton, UF Gulf Scholars Program Coordinator at rlburton@ufl.edu to set up a meeting.
