UF Gulf Scholars Medallion

Looking to focus your studies on the Gulf region? Consider pursuing the UF Gulf Scholars Medallion. By completing the required coursework, experiential learning opportunities, and a Gulf Impact Project, you will be well-prepared to tackle some of the Gulf’s most pressing challenges, whether in graduate school or the workforce.

Enrollment for the medallion program begins in Fall 2024, and students from all majors are encouraged to apply. We’ll work closely with you to ensure your experience fits your personal and professional goals after graduation.

We offer five specialized pathways, or Gulf Streams, which include:

  • Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability
  • Cultural Heritage, History, and Storytelling
  • Resilient Built Environments and Economies
  • Policy and Advocacy
  • Public Health

How and when can I enroll?

You can enroll at any time, though we suggest enrolling with at least four semesters remaining at UF. If you are later on in your UF journey, we are willing to work with you.
